I am willing to take on custom orders (within reason) - this means that if you want, say, a partial kit because you're making your own enclosure, then I should be able to accomodate that.
Whilst I am perfectly amenable to doing design work (eg. modifying an existing module to fit in 1U tile format) please be aware that this work is chargeable - my usual rate is £15/hr or part thereof, and redesigning a circuit, designing panels and suchlike is usually 6-8hrs work, and this is before board fabbing and components are accounted for. Modification of an existing circuit is a lot cheaper.
The minimum order size for custom orders is 2 or 3 boards - having single boards fabbed is prohibitively expensive, assuming that I'd be able to find a fab house to take the job on.
To request a custom order, click on the 'Request Custom Order' button on the front page of the Etsy shop.
Please be aware that custom orders are not cancellable
York Modular (YoMo) is a product of the fevered imagination of Simon Ward, a burnt-out software developer with a passion for melting metal over things with a hot pencil and having them make a racket afterwards.
My aim is to make Eurorack, and synthesis in general, more accessible and affordable. I subscribe to the 'do one thing and do it well' school of thought so if you're looking for all-singing, all-dancing mega modules then you're probably in the wrong place. If you want useful, affordable stuff then feel free to click through to my Etsy store.
He is aided and abetted in this endeavour by his friend, Lauren, who acts as occasional designer, moral support and voice of reason.
Finally, yes - I do solder the surface-mount stuff by hand.
